So, I have lived in Texas for 10+ years now and have never made it downtown at the right time for the cattle drive. Well, we were showing our friends the Stockyards and here comes the cattle drive! It was 4:00pm on a Saturday. This was super exciting for me and of course for the kiddos. :0)

Tons Mongolian Grill was one of the first new asian resturants that I tried in Texas. It is very simple, very inexpensive (7.00 for an all you can eat lunch), and very filling. When you go, make sure that you are visiting Tons Mongolian Grill off of Green Oakes and Cooper Street behind the Bank of America on Cooper Street in Arlington, Texas. Ironically, there are three different Tons Mongolian resturants in Arlington and none of them are related.

When you arrive, you are greeted by friendly Mongolians who will seat you and get your drink order. Next you will go to the buffet of raw vegetables and meat. You start by picking up two empty bowls and setting them on a tray. After you have selected everything that you want to eat, and you have filled your bowls to overflowing, you will proceed to slather oils and cooking saucesĀ on your ingredients according to how spicy you want your food to be…thus the chart.

After you are content with the amount of food and amount of flavoring you have added to your food, you will then hand your bowls to the friendly Mongolian cooking food on this BIG round grill.

After your food has been cooked, it is handed back to you and you asked if you would like sesame seeds on your food. I always say, “Yes!” Then Enjoy!

One last item of note, after you have paid your bill, the hostess will tell you, “See you tomorrow!” I always think it is so cute because number one, it is good Marketing and number two, you are so stuffed you don’t even think you will be able to eat tomorrow.
